spectrum
The Spectrum Project has come to the end of its current grant funding and is now closed. The project began in the mid 1980s as an ecumenical project. It has been based at Churches Together in Britain and Ireland.
The first Spectrum training programme was published in 1989. The Spectrum Starter Pack was produced in 1991 and a revised Spectrum training programme was published in 1996.
The final revision of new materials for volunteer youth workers is being published as the project comes to a close. This offers training at 3 levels and consists of:
• Getting Started, an easy to use workbook
• Moving On, a short course
• Deeper, a longer course consisting of 6 modules
This will be available shortly through denominational national officers.
Other youth work training resources are available from a number of agencies. www.cywt.org.uk provides links to an extensive range of training providers.
Please address all youth work training enquiries to those managing youth work in the national office of your denomination or agency. Staff at CTBI may be able to help you if you cannot find the relevant contact details yourself.
The Spectrum Management Group wishes to record its thanks to Mary McGinty who has been project manager for the last five years.
