Church and Society Commission of the Conference of European
Churches (CEC)

The Church and Society Commission fosters ecumenical dialogue and co-operation between 125 member churches from all over Europe on church and society issues. It encourages and enables Christian contributions to political, social and economic life in Europe. It has a vibrant work programme and acts through a wide range of working groups and partnerships. 

The Church and Society Commission is one of the commissions of the Conference of European Churches (CEC) link to external website of which Churches Together in Britain and Ireland is an associated member.

The Roman Catholic Church is not a member of CEC, but CEC and its commissions work closely with Catholic church organisations.

The Roman Catholic churches of the European Union work together through the Commission of the Bishops' Conferences of the European Community (COMECE) link to external website

The Council of European Bishops' Conferences (CCEE) link to external website links the work of all the Roman Catholic churches of Europe.
