church and public issues network
The Church and Public Issues Network replaced the Church and Society Forum in 2010 and fulfils broadly the same function. The Network provides a structure through which member churches and associated bodies can meet together, exchange information, provide mutual support and, if appropriate, agree to act jointly, as they engage with contemporary political, social and ethical issues, especially where there is a distinctive Christian contribution to be made.
The Network meets two or three times a year, including at the CTBI annual Networking Conference. These meetings bring together those who work on public and social issues in member churches across England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland. Membership of the Network is open to all member churches of Churches Together in Britain and Ireland, who may nominate one or two representatives as contacts. Representatives from non-member churches or other relevant Christian organisations may also be able to participate.
The Moderator of the Church and Public Issues Network is Bishop Tom Butler.
