racial justice fund

Dear Racial Justice Partners,

Whilst the Racial Justice fund is under review we will not be funding but please do continue to check in with our web page and we will keep you up to date regarding the future of the Racial Justice Fund.

We do however recognize how difficult this will be for many of the organisations that we fund, especially as so many of you depend on the RJF to keep going each year. It is a sad fact of life that the Church is not immune from financial constraints and we completely sympathise with the difficulty of your situation.

Thankfully, there are other excellent funders who are willing to give funds to Church groups and other religious organisations. The Racial Justice Team has complied a list of funders that we hope will be helpful to you.

Those of you that were able to participate in our numerous capacity building seminars will remember that funding and grant giving for churches and religious organisations can be restrictive. Many charitable trusts avoid funding or promoting religious activities, but where the good cause or project has a more wide reaching role in the community it may be funded by a general funder. Remember to research each fund and make sure you fit the criteria. It is always a good idea to phone and have a conversation about your project or idea and check the funder's web-site before putting in an application.

Good Luck
