Emergency appeal
Stronger than usual monsoon rains have caused devastating flooding that has killed more than 1,500 and affected up to 20 million people in Pakistan.
Emergency appeals have been launched by Christian aid agencies and churches that are members of Churches Together in Britain and Ireland.
CAFOD
CAFOD has pledged an initial £100,000 in emergency funds but says "as the scale of the disaster unfolds, it's becoming clear that more is needed".
Christian Aid
Christian Aid has sent £150,000 to help Act Alliance partners who will provide food, shelter and medical assistance to more than 200,000 people in Balochistan, Khyber Paktunkwa, Punjab and Sindh provinces.

Church of Ireland
The Bishops' Appeal Committee of the Church of Ireland has announced that it is providing emergency funding of €10,000.

The Church of Scotland World Mission Council is working with the the Church of Pakistan (a Partner of Church of Scotland) in supporting the relief effort.
Methodist Church
The Methodist Relief and Development Fund (MRDF)
and the Methodist Church are supporting efforts to help the survivors.
Salvation Army
The Salvation Army team in Pakistan has visited many different areas, including schools, which have faced devastation. It has identified at least 3,000 families that have lost their homes.
SCIAF
SCIAF is in contact with its Catholic sister agencies in Caritas Internationalis
who are providing aid on the ground in the flood-hit areas of Pakistan.
United Reformed Church
The URC is encouraging congregations and members to respond to the Disasters Emergency Committee appeal for funds to assist flood victims in Pakistan.
