action on asylum and refugees
sanctuary pledge
In the run-up to the 2010 General Election, churches, faith groups and other organisations asked politicians to sign the Sanctuary Pledge
.
Christians were asked to play their part by persuading their local Parliamentary candidates to sign it.
The campaign has had some success as one of the five pledges - to end the detention of children during immigration - has been fulfilled.
