During early 2008, the Racial Justice team of Churches Together in Britain and Ireland co-ordinated some 'think tank' events around the country in conjunction with the CUF Xchange 
(part of the Church Urban Fund).
These meetings aimed to identify local needs, the local initiatives that groups were keen to undertake, obstacles to good practice, the distinctive contribution that faith-based groups could make and a checklist of points to follow up.
