Faith and Order concerns

"There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to the one hope of your calling, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all and through all and in all" (Eph. 4:4-6).

Faith and Order concerns are central to the Ecumenical process.

The aim is "to proclaim the oneness of the Church of Jesus Christ and to call the churches to the goal of visible unity".

A crucial part of the pilgrimage towards unity set out in the Swanwick Declaration is dialogue between the churches, either on a bi-lateral or multi-lateral basis, on essential matters of Christian theology concerning the nature of the Church.

There has been important progress over the past fifty years or so, but there is still a long road to be travelled in this ecumenical journey towards ‘full visible unity'.
