Churches Together in Britain and Ireland

theology and unity

together in ecumenical pilgrimage

Theology and Unity at Churches Together in Britain and Ireland promotes and supports work done by the churches in:

We work with CTBI member churches, with international ecumenical bodies including the World Council of Churches, the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity, the Conference of European Churches, in liaison with formal and informal networks, and with Bodies in Association with CTBI, and with appropriate groups and committees within the national ecumenical bodies, ACTS, CYTUN, CTE, and ICC.

CTBI offers an ecumenical space for the churches to explore different understandings of Christian unity, what is meant by "full visible unity" and other matters affecting common concerns between the churches.

From time to time, CTBI convenes theological consultations for the churches, especially in respect of significant ecumenical publications on the nature of unity.

Each year we produce the material for the annual Week of Prayer for Christian Unity and the biennial Ecumenical Lent Course.
